GeoRovia country route game FAQ
Quick answers about the daily geography puzzle, border rules, scoring, hints, saved progress, and language support.
What is GeoRovia?
GeoRovia is a free daily geography game where you connect a start country to a target through a continuous chain of countries that share land borders.
Is this a country guessing game?
Map knowledge helps, but GeoRovia is primarily a country path game. You choose the next bordering country and use route feedback instead of guessing one hidden answer.
Which borders count?
MVP puzzles use accepted natural land borders. Bridges, tunnels, causeways, sea crossings, and seasonal ice do not create a connection.
Do I have to find the shortest route?
No. Any valid route that reaches the target completes the puzzle. The shortest route is an optional three-star and Mastery Mode goal.
What do closer, same, and farther mean?
They compare the shortest number of border crossings from your old and new positions to the target. They do not measure kilometers.
Can I undo a country?
Yes. Undo removes the last country from the active route. Your exploration count remains, but you can continue from the previous country.
When does the daily map game reset?
A new shared puzzle becomes active at 00:00 UTC. The same puzzle ID is used in every supported language.
Is GeoRovia free and does it require an account?
GeoRovia is free to play in the browser and the MVP does not require an account.
Where is my progress stored?
Current progress, settings, streaks, and passport data are stored locally in your browser. You can clear them from settings.
Which languages are supported?
GeoRovia supports English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese, including common country-name aliases.
